Safety Manager

Position: Safety Manager

Location: Flint, Michigan – Flint Assembly/Stamping

Duration: 3 month contract to hire

Shift: 50-60 hours a week – Starting at 6am

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Public Health or relevant working experience

5 years of experience in automotive industry

5 years of experience in safety

MS Office & Sharepoint experience

Plusses:

ISO 45000 (Health and Safety) or ISO 14000 (Environmental)

Day to Day:

Insight Global is looking for a Safety Manager in the Flint, Michigan area. The Safety Manager is going to be responsible for walking the floor, checking on jobs, making sure proper safety is occurring on the floor, as well as any paperwork and administrative tasks. They will also be assisting the supervisor in creating any plans for the day and any situations that arise. The Safety Manager needs to be willing to learn, can lead, and be able to make hard decisions and speak up when necessary. The Safety Manager will also have a Safety Specialist that is their direct report – mentoring the specialist is a huge part of this role!
