Our communications client is looking for a Wireless Observability Engineer to join their team.

Pay Rate: $65.00 - $70.00/hr on W2
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be taken into account when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting is a reflection of a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided pay range.

Responsibilities of the Wireless Observability Engineer:
Plan, implement, and maintain system configurations
Enhance engineering practices for robust security, performance, and availability
Integrate observability, encompassing SNMP monitoring, log aggregation, JVM monitoring, and network device monitoring
Develop skills in monitoring systems and applications using the Grafana stack
Contribute to revision control using Git, collaborate on network performance monitoring with the Netscout suite
Automate processes through scripting in BASH and Python
Bring expertise in packet capture analysis
Requirements of the Wireless Observability Engineer:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 5 years of networking or systems engineering experience
Experience with log aggregation tools such as Splunk or Loki
Experience with revision control using Git
Expertise with the Netscout suite of products for network performance monitoring and troubleshooting
Proficiency in taking and analyzing packet captures with tools like TCPDump and/or Wireshark
Strong understanding of Linux and Unix operating systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE, and Rocky Linux)
Understanding of SNMP monitoring for effective polling and visualization
Basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., BASH, Python)
Exposure to JVM monitoring and network device monitoring
Interest in observability and monitoring technologies, including exposure to the Grafana stack
