MRI Technologist

**Part time, 8-20 hours per week (preferably weeknights and Sundays)

Responsibilities

Operate a magnetic resonance imaging scanner to obtain images used by the study for Data collection.

Operate console and peripheral hardware using study appropriate imaging techniques.

Enter and monitor patient and study data. Transfer images from disk to electronic media.

Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals set forth by the protocol and as directed by the supervisor.

Works under the general supervision of the MRI-designated radiologist while following study protocol. Will report to a chief technologist or manager.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Associate's degree in Radiology or similar field is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum of 4+ years experience required. Also open to candidates with 2+ years of experience.

Licenses and CertificationsRegistration/Certification in MRI with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Other licensing/credentials as appropriate to the state within which they are performing this function (may vary by state).

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong written and verbal communication.

A sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of patients.

Attention to detail.

The capacity to follow a physician's instructions.

The ability to work with a team.

Valid driver's license and insurance.

Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.

Work Environment This position will take place primarily in a hospital environment.
