Database DB2 Support

Infrastructure Database DB2 Support- Top FS Organization- 6 Month Contract Opportunity

Lawrence Harvey is currently partnered with a well-known FS organization that specializes in foreign exchange transactions. They are now looking for a DB2 DBA that can come in and contribute to a dynamic team.

You’ll be responsible for providing 2nd line operational support for the businesses internal DB2 database, infrastructure, and systems, you will also work closely with other support teams to ensure that the database environments are fully supported and maintained in order to meet the needs of the business.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Production operational support experience for IBM DB2 (11.1/11.5) within and enterprise Linux/AIX environment.

• Must understand database disaster recovery/high availability technologies including DB2 HADR, QREP, Veritas Volume Replication.

• Ability to write Korn/Awk shell scripts for database maintenance and monitoring.

• Database performance tuning we use appropriately sized buffer pools, clustered indexes for heavy sort activity, one materialized query table (MQT), indexes, and daily reorgs on some tables

• Oracle Production DBA support exposure/knowledge will be valuable

• Experience in working with ITSM ticket systems such as Service Now and an understanding of priorities and SLA’s.

• Knowledge of ITIL framework (understanding of Incident, Problem, Change)

As noted, this is a 6-month contract opening to start with potential for an extension and or full-time. The role requires a hybrid work schedule with 2 days a week in office.
