Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage the Paper Mill Department including oversight of approximately 150 employees.

• Ability to proactively develop and implement process enhancements to meet plant operating requirements over the short and long term.

• Oversight of department safety initiatives, including OSHA compliance.

• Responsible for implementing a strategy to ensure key performance metrics are attained.

• Support and facilitate capital project implementation.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

• Ability to develop workforce potential and foster employee engagement.

• Collaborate in developing Company Goals and Culture; align with Company Mission, Vision, and Values

• Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements.

• Assures consistent application of policies, rules, and guidelines.

• Works with leadership team and builds strong, collaborative relationships.

• Collaborates with leaders with competing agendas and priorities across different functional departments to achieve the common goal.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.

• 2-3 years previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.

• Paper Industry experience required

• Must have demonstrated leadership abilities.

• Leadership aptitude needed to manage and develop others.

• Proven communication, decision making and employee relations skills. Capacity to engage employees and effectively build rapport.

• Results-oriented, with demonstrated abilities to accomplish tasks on schedule and operate within cost constraints.

• Knowledgeable of safety compliance programs.

• Adept at problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning.

• Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks.

• Track record driving continuous improvement. Prior exposure to LEAN Management is a plus.

• Must have ability to effectively work with people in a team environment and at various levels of the organization.

• Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
