Koroseal Interior Products has an immediate opening for an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager at its Louisville, KY operations facility. This position will coordinate and manage the activities of all Koroseal facilities to meet and/or exceed federal, state and local health, safety and environmental regulations and specifications. Coordinate the implementation of corrective actions for injury causing events as well as conducting personnel and equipment reviews to assist in injury prevention solutions. Coordinate plant safety programs and employee training.
Responsibilities:
Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards. Primary goal is to protect employees, customers, and the environment.
Identify potential hazards from safety or biologics
Collect samples for analysis
Recommend solutions to safety hazards to protect workers
Educate employees on how to prevent health and safety problems through safety training
Investigate accidents to identify causes and find ways to prevent in the future
Participate in new material reviews as a member of the material review board to approve or reject use of materials
Assure proper personal protection equipment is specified and used
Issue, maintain, and/or revise Job Safety Analyses documents
Review, maintain, and/or revise required MSDS/SDS files (using outside consultants as required)
Chair safety committee meetings
Responsible for facility environmental reporting in connection with all applicable laws and regulations
Tasks:
Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
Provide new employee health and safety orientations; develop materials for these presentations
Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment and first aid supplies
Collaborate with others to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment
Coordinate CPR and related first-responder training
Partner with HR to report any work-related injuries/illnesses in a timely manner
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree plus at least 5 years’ industrial health, safety and environmental management experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advanced computer skills to enable report-writing and metrics reporting
