Job Title: Splunk Engineer

Location : Albany, NY( Hybrid)

Stability Engineer Job Description

Responsible for ensuring the reliability, robustness, resiliency, and security of software systems. This includes proactive maintenance, collaboration with developers and key product owners, and development of architectural plans.

As a member of the stability team, manage the various Stability related efforts in process for the client.

Responsibilities include:

Manage the existing Splunk Instance

Manage Splunk installations and upgrades

Configure Data Inputs as needed.

Manage Apps/Dashboards for license usage and application errors.

Set up Splunk Forwarding for new application tiers introduced into the environment.

Identifying bad searches/dashboards and partnering with the creators to improve performance.

Troubleshooting Splunk performance and configuration issues / Opening support cases with Splunk.

Monitor the Splunk infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization.

Troubleshoot log feeds, field extractions, search time, etc.

Manage Security (Role based) and User Access.

Restrict access to sensitive logs and confidential data.

Write Python or Java Scripts

Interfacing with other groups when required

Perform Stability Planning

Assist with onboarding clients to Splunk

Work with clients to address Stability concerns.

Work with client leadership on Stability planning

Mentoring:

Mentor others in Splunk operations

Mentor others in Splunk development and/or administration

Mentor others in Stability concepts and implementation.

Work with other groups at both solution and business level for

Stability onboarding.
