Role Description

This is a fully remote on-call contract position. Of Counsel will serve as an Executive Advisor to the Managing Attorney and other law firm members on specific employment litigation cases. Of Counsel will advise on case strategy, calculating damages, motions practice, stages of discovery, and guidance on trial, arbitration, or mediation preparation. Counsel will further advise on the trial strategy of assigned cases. Of Counsel will be expected to be available to meet via telephone or video conference. Specific cases assigned will be matters the law firm is preparing for or expecting to be tried in State or Federal Court.

The expected commitment is 10-15 hours a month. There is no minimum commitment. Hours may vary depending on the stages of a case and the firm's needs.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of California Employment Law

5+ years experience in PAGA litigation (Required)

Proficient in Negotiations

Employment Law Trial Experience (Required)

Wage and Hour Arbitration Experience

Ability to analyze complex legal documents and contracts

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Must be licensed to practice law in California (or retired CA attorney)

Compensation: $120/hr-$150/hr
