Our client, an innovative technology company specializing in software infrastructure solutions, is looking for a System Administrator to join their team! Our client is looking for a System Administrator with a strong technical background to manage and optimize other IT systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Windows environments, particularly with backup solutions and advanced support requirements.

Responsibilities:

Implement a robust Windows laptop backup solution, focusing on image backups onto a dedicated local server with continuous, encrypted file backups during daytime hours.

Ensure backup processes maintain a delta of less than 30 minutes, utilizing both commercial and free software systems (e.g., Ghost, Acronis, Clonezilla, Backblaze, Carbonite) that meet encryption standards of AES 256 or higher.

Facilitate easy and convenient recovery procedures onto spare backup systems.

Key Deliverables: A. Windows Laptop Backup Solution:

Configure and maintain image-based backups onto a designated local server.

Implement locally encrypted continuous backups with rapid delta updates (<30 minutes) for ongoing file protection.

Employ a combination of commercial and free software solutions to achieve backup goals.

Ensure backups are readily recoverable onto backup systems.

B. Windows Support:

Provide advanced support for Outlook, including management of local PST files and synchronization with iPhones (Email, Contacts, Calendar).

Manage exotic file system support within Windows, addressing issues related to long path names and specialized filesystem requirements.

Qualifications:

5+ years as a System Administrator or similar role in a complex Windows environment.

Proficiency with backup software such as Ghost, Acronis, Clonezilla, Backblaze, or Carbonite.

Expertise in Windows operating systems, with a focus on backup strategies and Outlook management.

Familiarity with encryption standards and best practices (e.g., AES 256).

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to be on-call & work on weekends(if needed)
