HYBRID (4 days in office) – IN HOUSTON, TEXAS

The Platform Architect contributes to constructing and supporting the core enterprise data and machine learning platform within a collaborative team environment. They advise on best practice architectural patterns, balancing individual use cases with enterprise architecture principles, and possess expertise in computer science, DevOps, MLOps, CI/CD, and platform automation. Responsible for designing and implementing automated processes, they prioritize reproducibility and auditability while leveraging business knowledge to solve complex problems effectively.

THE ROLE

Lead the creation and evolution of the data and ML platform in collaboration with BU teams, under the guidance of the Chief Architect.

Develop a solutions roadmap and phased implementation approach for tech platforms to achieve strategic business objectives.

Ensure alignment between individual platform needs and enterprise architectural principles, avoiding duplication.

Provide guidance on managing tradeoffs between development speed, technical debt, and operational costs.

Monitor industry trends for new architectural patterns and recommend relevant technologies to enhance existing infrastructure.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Craft architecture plans aligned with business strategy and leverage deep understanding of AI and modern data architectures.

Champion contemporary design paradigms like microservices and cloud-native design, with expertise in AWS.

Possess industry knowledge to frame best practices and support digital and AI ambitions.

Demonstrate strong expertise with Databricks or similar tools like Snowflake.

Utilize advanced knowledge of object-oriented principles, Python, YAML/Terraform, and Microservices Architecture.

Extensive experience in architecting and implementing software applications in AWS or Azure, designing CI/CD pipelines, and utilizing Docker or other containerization technologies.
