Job Title: Quality Technician

Shift: 2nd Shift (2:30pm to Midnight)

Location: Northbrook, IL

Salary: $60,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on experience

We're seeking a skilled Quality Technician to join our team and contribute to our commitment to excellence. As a Quality Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products through meticulous inspection, analysis, and implementation of quality procedures. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to reading and understanding blueprints, performing first piece part approvals, training operators, and participating in corrective actions. This position requires a high attention to detail, technical proficiency, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Utilize Microsoft Office Excel and Word for documentation and reporting purposes.

Program CMM using PC-DMIS software for accurate measurements.

Read and interpret blueprints, including understanding GD&T.

Operate various measuring equipment to ensure product specifications are met.

Perform first piece part approvals to maintain quality standards.

Identify customer products and create instructions for new products.

Advise on updates or changes to work instructions.

Train operators to identify quality issues and use measuring instruments effectively.

Implement and maintain updated measurement instruments within the Value Stream.

Collaborate with team members to address quality issues effectively.

Understand and implement inspection procedures and maintain quality records.

Participate in answering corrective actions such as SCAR and 5-Why - 3 Phase.

Receive training in Web Portals to enhance job performance.

Prior die casting experience.

Qualifications:

5 to 7 years of experience in a quality-related role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word.

Experience with CMM programming using PC-DMIS software.

Strong understanding of blueprints, GD&T, and measuring equipment.

Ability to perform first piece part approvals and identify customer products.

Capacity to create instructions for new products and advise on work instruction changes.

Experience training operators and implementing inspection procedures.

Familiarity with answering corrective actions (SCAR, 5-Why - 3 Phase).

Training in Web Portals will be provided.

Die casting experience preferred.

Bilingual is a plus.

High School Diploma required.
