Quality Control Vendor Assurance Analyst

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a highly motivated Quality Control Vendor Assurance Analyst to join their team in Streamwood, IL to ensure the quality and reliability of food ingredient suppliers. This role will involve hands-on testing of new products and materials, as well as establishing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. The ideal candidate will have a background in vendor management within the food manufacturing industry and a strong focus on quality assurance. Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control:

Conduct hands-on testing of new products, materials and packaging, and samples to assess quality.

Collect and analyze data from testing processes.

Generate detailed reports on testing findings and quality metrics.

Vendor Assurance and Improvement:

Develop and implement structured vendor assurance processes to enhance quality control.

Foster positive relationships with ingredient suppliers, focusing on two major vendors in the USA.

Collaborate with European vendors occasionally as needed.

Assist in procuring the best products and services from vendors to meet quality standards.

Vendor Management and Coordination:

Oversee all aspects of vendor management throughout the business relationship.

Supervise pre-screening and qualification procedures for vendors.

Negotiate favorable terms and prices with vendors.

Initiate onboarding and account setup processes.

Introduce vendors to direct account representatives and oversee contract and invoice processing.

Resolve conflicts to maintain positive connections with vendors.

High-Level Vendor Management Strategy:

Guide and implement high-level vendor management strategies and policies.

Continuously assess and improve vendor management processes to optimize business relationships.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field preferred.

3+ years of vendor management experience in the food manufacturing industry.

Strong understanding of quality control processes and standards.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to travel periodically as needed for vendor visits and audits.
