Responsibilities:
Designing Control Systems: Develop control system architecture and schematics based on project requirements. Select appropriate Allen Bradley PLC models, input/output modules, and peripherals.
Programming PLCs: Write, test, and debug PLC ladder logic programs using Allen Bradley software (such as RSLogix or Studio 5000). Implement logic for process control, motion control, safety interlocks, and communication protocols.
HMI Development: Design and configure Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems using software like FactoryTalk View or PanelView. Create intuitive graphical interfaces for operators to monitor and control industrial processes.
Integration with Peripheral Devices: Interface PLCs with various peripheral devices including sensors, actuators, motors, drives, and instrumentation. Ensure seamless communication and synchronization between different components.
Network Configuration: Configure industrial networks such as Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, or ControlNet for data exchange between PLCs, HMIs, and other automation equipment. Troubleshoot network issues and optimize network performance.
Testing and Commissioning: Conduct thorough testing of control systems to verify functionality, performance, and safety. Collaborate with field technicians during system installation and commissioning. Provide on-site support as needed.
Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation including functional specifications, wiring diagrams, operation manuals, and maintenance procedures. Maintain accurate records of software versions, configurations, and changes.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues in a timely manner. Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and uptime of automation equipment.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in PLC technology and automation trends. Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvement, and cost reduction.
