Maintenance Technician/Mechanic

We are searching for an exceptional, detailed oriented with strong analytical and interpersonal skills to perform the role of Mechanic/Maintenance Technician, at our Houston or La Porte, Texas US manufacturing facility.

Must be able to work in hot and cold environments for extended periods of time.

Must be able to work from multiple body positions: (kneeling, stooping, bending over, overhead work, working off a ladder, climbing a ladder, lying underneath equipment).

Must be able to bend and lift 50lb and 75lb.

Must have at least 2 years prior maintenance experience as a maintenance industrial maintenance mechanic/industrial maintenance technician.

All maintenance positions here at Ingenia are multi-craft. Meaning a person applying for any maintenance positions with Ingeina and has a heavy mechanical background must be willing to learn and or perform light to medium duty non-energized electrical work as needed. A person with a heavy industrial electrician background must be willing to learn and or perform light to medium duty mechanical work as needed. Absolutely no one will ever be put in an unsafe situation or a situation that they are not comfortable with due to lack of experience.

All applicants must have and maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, must be open minded, must be able to work in a fast paced environment, must show the initiative learn the plant’s equipment and process to improve themselves as an Ingenia maintenance mechanic/technician, be willing to learn and or work as a multi-craft maintenance mechanic/technician, must be willing to assist other maintenance mechanics/technicians as needed, work with contractors as needed, perform miscellaneous tasks around the plant facilities as needed, must be able to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd rotating shifts depending on plant needs, be able to work weekends on a rotating shift and be available to respond to callouts for on call weekend coverage that is also a rotating shift.

NCCER certificate as a millwright, NCCER certificate as an industrial electrician or Texas electrical journeyman license is preferred but not required. Additional experience in welding or machining on top of their mechanical or electrical background is a plus.

Applicants with maintenance experience in the plastics industries and or twin screw extrusion is a plus.

Applicants with SAP experience in creating work orders, parts management and timecard entries is a plus.

Applicants with millwright or mechanical backgrounds must have knowledge of using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, calipers, filler dial indicators, plumb bob, squares, levels, protractor, center punch, pry bars, various types of wrenches, pullers. Perform preventive maintenance per schedule. Must have knowledge of removing, rebuilding, installing, maintaining and performing alignments on electric motors, compressors, gearboxes, gear/motors, centrifugal pumps, gear pumps, couplings, sheaves, sprockets, and drive belts, various sizes of roller chain, ball bearings, roller bearings, various types of seals, and various types of gaskets, able to bolt up various sizes of flanges properly. Knowledge of disassembly and reassembly of extruder barrel sections, screw shafts, screw elements is a plus. Must be able to cut, thread and install screw pipe properly. Must be able to locate equipment literature when needed. Must be able to read, interpret and work from equipment, structural and hydraulic drawings. Must be able to document all tasks, fill out and turn in jobs sheets after each job, check and send communication emails, enter documentation on work orders and enter time cards. Knowledge of SAP is a plus. Any additional hydraulic, electrical, welding or machining knowledge/experience is a plus.

Applicants with electrical backgrounds must have knowledge of using hand tools, power tools, knock out set, tubing benders, conduit benders, crimping tools, amp meters, voltage meters, megohmeter, ECT. Must have knowledge of installing, troubleshooting and maintaining motors, motor controls, motor starters, AC and DC control systems, solenoid valves, relays, 120VAC, 277VAC and 460VAC lighting fixtures and lighting circuits. Perform preventive maintenance per schedule. Must have knowledge removing, installing, and wiring single phase and three phase 120VAC, 230VAC, 460VAC, 575VAC, 4160VAC and 700VDC electric motors. Must be able to read, interpret and work from equipment and electrical drawings and schematics. Knowledge of troubleshooting, installing and programming drives/VFD’s and soft starters. Must be able to install rigid, EMT and PVC conduit per NEC code. Must be able to scope small projects with little or no assistance. Must be able to install wiring and properly size cable/wiring as well as properly size raceways/conduit and conduit body fill percentages per NEC code. Knowledge of single phase and three phase electric heaters. Knowledge of various types of instrumentation (pressure, temperature, speed sensors, level sensors, load cells, load cell summing boards, load cell transmitters). Must be able to document all tasks, fill out and turn in jobs sheets after each job, check and send communication emails, enter documentation on work orders and enter time cards. Knowledge of SAP is a plus. Any additional mechanical, hydraulic, welding or machining knowledge/experience is a plus.
