The Concrete Carpenter is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site and ensure surfaces are finished to look good and remain structurally sound. The duties and responsibilities are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient construction site while also helping to develop the skills of others within the crew. This position will report to the concrete foreman and be a key component in the success of the concrete division within RP Constructors.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.

Shape or cut materials to precise measurements and assemble boards, timber, or plywood to the necessary size.

Read blueprints, sketches, or plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions, shape, design, and materials required.

Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of wooden structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.

Construct concrete wall forms and set forms per elevations provided on engineering drawings.

Use of plate compactor for proper subsurface compaction prior to new concrete placement.

Pours, smooths, and levels concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed, including the use of handheld and/or power tools.

Monitors the effects of the weather on the curing process.

Cleans and inspects surfaces for pouring issues.

Applies sealing and hardening components.

Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment.

Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade.

Ability to follow safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment.

Dependable and strong work ethic.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.

High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum two years of experience working as a concrete laborer or finisher (Required)

Must be able to work long, flexible hours including weekends.

Ability to meet physical demands of the job: lift 50 pounds, standing for long periods of time.

Willingness to travel to different locations and work in a variety of weather conditions.

Have a valid driver license (Preferred)

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certified (Preferred)

American Concrete Institution certified (Preferred)
