General Statement: Under the direction of the Medical Director of Crisis Services, performs initial evaluations, diagnoses, ongoing assessments, and treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, substance abuse, and/or developmental disabilities. Identifies needs of persons served, makes treatment plans and referrals, and provides medication management and psychoeducational support in collaboration with existing medical staff and program; performs related work as required.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university school of nursing; certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by the Michigan Board of Nursing; Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner board certification in a Primary Care Specialty; current DEA license, AND three (3) years clinical experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, including assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention. Prefer experience working with children in a psychiatric setting.

Additional Requirements: Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, or irregular hours. Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and the use of a vehicle during work hours. Must be able to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position. This position may at times work between more than one program and location.
