Sr Electrical Estimator

Job Description

Salary: $80-$140,000

The Electrical Estimator position plays an integral part in the electrical construction process and ensures competitiveness, profitability, and growth. The Lead Estimator is responsible for cost estimates for various electrical construction projects.

What You Will Do

As an Electrical Estimator, you have a pivotal role in our pre-construction team and are responsible for accurately estimating the cost of electrical projects in the commercial sector. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide comprehensive and competitive bids. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical systems, a keen eye for detail, and exceptional analytical and communication skills.

Determine construction requirements via field walk-downs with customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel.

Compare various project documents for accuracy, consistency, and data entry.

Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation. Participate in the estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders.

Assists construction personnel throughout the project life cycle in tracking and understanding cost estimates, as well as in the preparation and submission of change orders.

Follow-up at the end of projects to close any loops in the estimating process, including invoicing and cost tracking.

Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location.

Ideal Candidates

Must have seven or more years of proven estimating experience.

Knowledgeable of the N.E.C and local codes

Has 5+ years of Accubid experience

Able to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications, including blueprints, proposals, and other relevant documents.

Knowledgeable of electrical materials and methods of installation

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel applications, and ACCUBID estimating software.

Has a team-player mentality

Has experience reviewing and comparing vendor quotes for any discrepancies or voids in their quotes to us.

Self-driven with the ability to stay on-task for extended periods while working independently.

It has an existing client base, a plus but not required.
