Iveco Defense Vehicles designs and produces vehicles for military and civil protection applications. Iveco Defense Vehicles, headquartered in Bolzano, provides a product portfolio comprised of four segments: heavy vehicles for logistics, tactical vehicles, protected vehicles, and multi-role vehicles.

Iveco Defense Vehicles are built on cutting-edge anti-ballistic, anti-mine, and other life-saving technology, ensuring maximum mobility in the most difficult environments.

The Defense Program Manager oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects, involving military systems and products. The role will coordinate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, manufacturers, contractors, and military personnel, to achieve strategic objectives and program requirements. Ultimately, the goal is to drive efficiency, innovation, and effectiveness in program management to support the needs of the company and customers. This is a Salary Exempt position.

Duties and responsibilities include and are not limited to:

Develop and manage program plans

Create detailed project plans outlining tasks, timelines, resources, and milestones.

Monitor and track project progress; identify and address any deviations from the plan.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of project.

Manage budget and resources

Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.

Allocate resources appropriately to support project objectives and priorities.

Monitor financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings or reallocation.

Mitigate risks and resolve issues

Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact to objectives.

Proactively address issues and obstacles for timely resolution and project continuity.

Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and prioritize risks, taking appropriate action to mitigate or eliminate them.

Foster stakeholder relationships

Establish and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders at all levels.

Facilitate regular meetings and status updates to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.

Collaborate with internal and external partners to foster collaboration and teamwork.

Provide leadership and guidance

Provide direction and guidance to project team members, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Mentor and coach team members to support their professional development and growth.

Lead by example, demonstrating commitment to project goals and values.

Qualifications:

Education - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management.

Understanding of defense industry practices, regulations, and standards.

Knowledge of project management methodologies such as PMBOK or PRINCE2.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Aptitude for building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.

Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ethical behavior.

Strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

Flexibility and adaptability to navigate complex and dynamic environments.

Professional Certification -Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in program or project management, preferably in the defense industry.

Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from initiation to completion.

Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing budgets and resources effectively.

Working conditions

The Program Manager position requires working in a standard office environment with typical office hours from Monday to Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet project deadlines or attend meetings, but it is not the norm. The job will involve travel (<10%) for meetings, conferences, or training purposes.

Physical requirements

The position requires the ability to work in a standard office environment, which may include sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods. While the job does not typically involve heavy lifting or strenuous physical activity, occasional movement and lifting of parts, supplies, and materials may be required.
