Working within our Lanarkshire Supported Living Service you can start your day knowing what you do really does make a difference The Role Mental Health and Wellbeing Workers operate independently within the community, providing assistance to individuals facing mental health challenges.

This involves delivering housing support and facilitating access to services and resources outlined during the support planning process.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Workers will play a key part in supporting people, being responsible for the implementation of outcome:focused, person:centered support plans.

It is expected that Mental Health and Wellbeing Workers maintain professional relationships with the individuals they support, as well as collaborate with partners within multidisciplinary teams.

They are also required to consistently uphold a positive reputation for their mental health services.

Working within a housing support service, the post will involve lone working within the community and supporting people in their own homes.

As such, driving license and access to a car are essential for this role.

The service provides support 7 days a week, so there will also be a requirement for evening and weekend working.

Key Responsibilities * Assist people who use the service to work toward their identified goals and move towards a brighter future as per the agreed personal plan.

* Use Penumbras Recovery tools (e.g.

I.ROC, HOPE toolkit). * Update and maintain relevant recording systems, including computer:based systems.

* Meet regularly with other team members to review progress, approach concerns and plans for moving forward.

* Assist in project work as required.

* Work in cooperation with colleagues, and staff from other agencies.

* Work in accordance with Penumbras policies and procedures.

* A pioneering charity supporting people on their journey to better mental health * Work effectively with other members of the team, and liaise effectively with families, agencies, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

* Participate in training activities and meetings as required.

* Uphold Penumbras Code of Practice.

* Register with the SSSC as appropriate and maintain post:registration training and learning log to meet ongoing registration requirements.

* Other duties deemed appropriate to this grade, as and when required.

Skills and Qualifications * Good level of educational attainment.

* Working towards SVQ3 or equivalent as defined by the SSSC.

* Experience of being in a supportive and enabling role.

* Core IT skills and ability to input data, basic word processing, manage emails and electronic diary.

* Experience working with a person:centred approach.

* Experience of working in the mental health field and or homelessness.

* Builds good working relationships with team members.

* Works co:operatively with other professionals as required.

* Is aware of own strengths and development needs.

* Demonstrates commitment to keeping knowledge, understanding and skills up to date.

* Speaks and writes clearly and accurately and ensures the message is understood.

* Explains clearly and accurately issues, policies, procedures and other pertinent information.

* Conveys sensitive or contentious information tactfully.
