How does this role contribute to our collective success?

The Financial Accountant within the European Financial Reporting Team will be assigned responsibilities spanning Regulatory, Statutory and Internal Financial Reporting and Project work as required.

The role will involve both working independently and within the local and global finance teams to ensure successful completion of high-quality deliverables in compliance with the internal control environment and external reporting requirements.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Statutory and Regulatory Reporting

Responsible for preparation and review of European subsidiaries annual financial statements.

Responsible for preparation and review of Solvency II narrative/qualitative reports (SFCR/RSR) for the Irish operating subsidiaries.

Responsible for production of various other statistical returns, regulatory filings and surveys for the European entities.

Support technical accounting issue resolution and responses to new accounting guidance including preparing technical accounting memos and escalating issues to Management.

Support the production of the quarterly and annual Solvency II returns.

Support production of annual operating budgets, 3 year strategic business plans and projected balance sheets for operating subsidiaries.

Co-ordinating with Actuarial, Investments, Risk, Treasury, and other teams to ensure completion of required reporting, including issue resolution and process enhancements.

Responsibility for production of quarterly subsidiary financial controller reporting packs containing income statement and balance sheet analytics.

Other Activities

Involvement in managing the offshore relationship and deliverables in respect of activities supporting the European Reporting team.

Support the External and Internal Audit processes.

Continuous review of current processes to identify opportunities for standardization or transformation.

Collaborate in cross-functional processes and special projects as required to support business initiatives.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

Qualified accountant with 1-4 years post-qualified experience.

Experience in Insurance Accounting.

Strong understanding of Irish GAAP / IFRS and US GAAP reporting requirements.

Strong understanding of the Solvency II framework and related reporting requirements.

Strong understanding of SOX compliance requirements with respect to financial reporting processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Role Factors:

In this role, you will typically be required to work from the office 3 days per week, travel requirements will be limited.
