Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a talented professional for the role of Finance Business Advisor for its Latin America & the Caribbean region.

The Finance Business Advisor serves as a strategic advisor to National Organizations (NO) in the Latin America and Caribbean region, providing comprehensive financial support to enhance operational efficiency, strategic planning, and capacity building. This role entails collaborating closely with NO teams, offering guidance on budgeting, financial modeling, and process improvement initiatives to drive organizational success and support Habitat for Humanity's mission in the region.

This position will be remotely-based within a country in the Latin America & Caribbean region where Habitat has an entity and the employee can already legally work.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic and Operative Planning Support: Assist National Offices (NO) in strategic and operative planning by providing advisory services on budgeting, financial modeling, scenario planning, cost-effectiveness analysis, and business lines profitability.

Provide guidance on financial aspects of projects (grants), including creating mechanisms for monitoring, supporting project management teams, and advising on financial insights, findings, and flags to ensure successful project delivery. Support and design of budget in all the phases of project proposals (concept paper, formal proposals, final agreement, forecast, etc).

Budget Design and Support: support the design of budgets across all phases of project proposals, including concept papers, formal proposals, final agreements, and forecasts.

Efficiency Enhancement: Offer advice on mapping, reengineering, and cost estimation of processes to enhance efficiency within the organization.

Training and Capacity Building: Design and deliver webinars and workshops to disseminate key financial information and train staff members of National Organizations.

Interdepartmental Liaison: Act as a liaison between programs and financial teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration between the two departments

Minimum Required:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Required: 6 + years of experience as finance business partner or running duties as financial analysis, strategic planning, and project management.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office high comports levels with products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a general comfort level working with technology systems (Outlook, SharePoint TeamSite’s, and online meeting software, etc.).

Skills

English fluency verbal and written. B2+

Ability to interface with, influence and provide excellent service to all levels of the organization (Sr. leaders, middle management).

Must be well-organized, results oriented, and able to work well both independently and in a team environment.

Excellent time management and communication (written & verbal) skills.

Proven capacity to train, coach, and transfer knowledge.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Competencies:

Able to establish, lead and deliver projects. Works independently and assumes managerial responsibilities.

Ability to identify, analyze and solve difficult situations and problems, in an effective way through careful and systematic evaluation. This is based on the definition of clear criteria to identify possible alternative solutions, their implications, and consequences to make the most appropriate decisions.

Ability to understand complex situations and solve problems. The ability to systematically organize information to compare different elements, discover connections between situations that are not obviously linked and identify cause-effect relationships. All of these to generate well thought out, comprehensive, and pertinent conclusions.

Preferred:

Experience with HFH highly preferred.

Knowledge and experience working with project management methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma, PMP, SCRUM or related.

Familiarity with nonprofit or humanitarian organizations is a plus.

Process mapping experience.
