Summary

The Sr. IT Business Analyst is a talented and dynamic professional that is experienced and skilled in understanding complex business domains, processes and problems and able to translate them into business and functional requirements.

The Sr. IT Business Analyst primary role is to bridge the gap between IT and business and be the voice of the customer. This role works closely with the business owners, analyzes business processes and problems to determine the business requirements. The Sr. IT Business Analyst has very good attention to detail in defining the functional requirements and specifications of products and solutions. This role communicates with the software development team throughout the end-to-end lifecycle and ensure that solution is aligned with the business and functional requirements.

Job Scope

Work closely with stakeholders, business owners and technical managers in defining business requirements, product roadmaps, functional requirements and project status updates.

Perform analysis and detailed documentation of the business processes, functional requirements, and user stories.

Lead discussion of the requirements to the development team and provide answers and clarifications to any queries and questions.

Conduct product demos and overview to business owners and stakeholders.

Functional Knowledge

Four-year college (Bachelor’s Degree) in any computer and engineering course or related field.

5+ years of professional experience as business analyst, product owner and/or IT related roles.

5+ years’ experience in defining business requirements, user and functional requirements.

3+ years’ experience writing user stories and managing product backlog in a Scrum and Agile development lifecycle.

Experience in financial, insurance, and claims business domains is a plus.

Preferably Certified Scrum Master or Certified Product Owner.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skill to deal with complex business problems and suggest solutions.

Excellent skills in scoping and collecting detailed requirements.

Good understanding on software, systems design and technology platforms preferably web-application systems and system integrations.

Knowledgeable in UX and UI design processes.

Good grasp on Agile principles and processes and software development lifecycle.

Outstanding comprehension and communication skills both verbally and written.

Strong technical and functional documentation skills using modeling, flowcharts and process flow diagrams.

Data analytical and reporting skills.

Exceptional customer and stakeholder management skills.

MS Visio and similar diagramming tools.

MS Office applications Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

JIRA and similar product backlog management tools.

Confluence, SharePoint and knowledge base repositories.

Mock-up and wireframing tools.

UML 1.0/2.0 and BPMN modeling standards.
