This contract is for a Gastroenterologist to supplement GI call coverage, inpatient consults, ED and scheduled procedures.
Level 1 Trauma Hospital with Lab, and X-ray onsite
Required Procedures: Colonoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
Required Types of Upper GI Endoscopy: Diagnostic, Therapeutic with Biopsy, with Foreign Body Removal
Examines patients using standard medical procedures, and using all types of equipment, instruments, and tests of the medical profession
Prescribe medications for patients
Provide consultation to patents, their families, patient terms, and others regarding patients diagnosis health status and treatment plans
Prepares medical case history
Orders and reviews diagnostic test reviews nursing reports and performs physical examinations of patients released from the medical departments and make diagnosis
Establishes medical procedures, directs, and trains professional nursing staff, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical technicians, and non-professional nursing care staff in patient care and treatment programs
Maintain current records and prepare reports
20-22 patient encounters per day (5 follow ups, 10-12 new patients, 2-4 procedures)
Epic EMR ChartingCERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Board Certified/Board Eligible - Required (need to be boarded within 5 years of training)
MI License- Highly preferred (will review MI license candidates first)
