Description:

Diagnose, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, maintain and service forced air heating and cooling utilizing computerized energy management control systems to operate Districtwide HVAC systems and equipment in an efficient manner as possible.

Perform operation, maintenance, and repair of computerized energy management controls systems (i.e. Distech, Schneider Electric, Trane, Johnson Controls) including installation of necessary software updates, system, scheduling, programming, system hardware repairs, and maintenance.

Repair controls on HVAC equipment, thermostats, VAV boxes, tab units, heat exchangers, air handler controllers, etc., to include calibrations.

In addition to following the preventative maintenance schedule for HVAC control systems, inspect various air handlers, air-cooled chilled water generation and multi-zone heating expansion cooling units, fiberglass piping, window units and other HVAC equipment equipment making any adjustments or repairs as needed.

Monitor air movement equipment, and make adjustments on the equipment for efficient operations.

Coordinate with various maintenance employees in responding to emergency situations at campus sites and resolve routine work related problems.

Must be able to work in the field to troubleshoot issues that cannot be corrected through central control and report back findings with how the issue was resolved.

Maintain inventory of assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles as assigned daily, inform supervisor of any known problems immediately and provide documentation during inspection and/or inventory of tools, equipment, and vehicle as required.

Follow District safety guidelines, using good safety practices for operating hand and power tools and equipment as need for job completion. Wear safety equipment as assigned, at all times.

Employee will be required to respond to after hour/emergency callouts, be placed on an emergency call out rotation, and flex work hours to accommodate job completions.

Required High School Diploma or GED.

Required Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Universal Certification.

Required to maintain a valid Texas driver license and driving record that meets the District's standards.

Required 5+ years in direct related experience including experience in all types of energy controls systems. Tridium Niagra experience preferred.

Ability to work in confined spaces; frequently required to use ladder, climb or balance at a height up to

30 feet.

Demonstrated knowledge of LON works such as Johnson Controls N2 and Controls Systems International (CSI)/INET and Schneider Electric Builder Projects and Schneider Electric Controls.

Demonstrated problem solving and investigative skills to research inquiries.

Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.

Must pass a Dallas ISD random drug test.
