Position Overview:

PLS is at an exciting juncture. Historically a brick-and-mortar organization, PLS is moving assertively into new channels in order to attract business and deepen relationships with existing customers.

The Digital Content Writer will have the opportunity to assist with the creation of compelling content across multiple channels, the identification of effective message placement and the research that will empower our decisions. In this role, you will advance your ability to rapidly take ideas from the concept phase through development, testing, and launch. This role will provide the chance to expand your marketing prowess by learning to recognize opportunities to improve the effectiveness of our communications.

This position reports to our Senior Marketing Manager and will join the PLS team in our downtown Chicago Corporate Headquarters and will work alongside the marketing team, product team, legal team and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Write engaging, powerful, and clear marketing copy across various digital and traditional marketing channels including web, social, text, search, video, print, etc.

Own management of social calendar including ideation, copy writing, routing for legal review, managing edits

Proofreading and scheduling posts across various platforms.

Own management of SMS/Text Club calendar and process including ideation, copy writing, routing for legal review, managing edits/proofreading, scheduling SMS messages thru vendor partner dashboard, coordinating execution.

Write monthly digital executive summary reports and share with senior leadership teams.

Pull data from various digital platforms, analyze, organize into clear and meaningful reports with strategic recommendations.

Manage 3rd party vendors and ownership of digital vendor dashboards.

Route content to legal and maintain log of all legal edits, proofreading, quality control, etc.

Manage SEM campaigns along with SEO for company web sites.

Write internal communication documents as requested including job aids, bulletins, process documents, meeting recaps,

Accountability and oversight related to copywriting, proofreading, editing and adherence to legal guidelines.

Assist Sr. Marketing Manager to execute requests and projects as assigned.

Assist in maintaining detailed records/files of documents, legal approvals, process documents, artwork, invoices, communications, and related project information.

Support ad hoc requests, special projects, store openings, administrative requests as needed.

Support for all channels with a focus on digital, text, and social.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required. Major in Marketing, Communications, or Journalism preferred.

5-7 years of experience in an internal marketing department or a digital marketing agency.

Must have very strong writing, editing, proofreading skills.

Must be comfortable writing and proofreading heavily regulated/compliance language to support legal disclosure as well as marketing copy.

Excellent organization skills and extremely high attention to detail.

A passion and curiosity about learning about our customers and their needs.

Financial Services experience preferred, but not required.

Ability to manage several tasks at once and prioritize requests from multiple team members.

Strong analytical skills to read through and synthesize data.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to diplomatically communicate insights and implications.

Passionate, energetic, team player, flexible, highly motivated.

Quick learner with demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Solid understanding/knowledge of non-traditional/digital marketing communications including website, social, text and digital media.

Punctual, reliable, self-starter and quick learner

Desired Qualifications:

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Proficient in Google Analytics, Facebook and other digital platforms

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

Ability to lift 15 lbs.
