Job Description

Location: Oklahoma City, 3017 N Stiles Avenue

Salary: Up to $68,000 based on education and experience.

Full Time /Part Time: Full Time

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday

Primary Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Position Description:

Positions in this job family are responsible for providing children with diagnostic and therapeutic services in the area of Occupational Therapy. Services are provided in the client’s natural environment, which are settings that children typically spend time; for example, home or child childcare. Occupational Therapist IV is the leadership level where incumbents are assigned responsibility for developing and implementing an occupational therapy program at an assigned location to insure that required treatments and activities are provided to individuals and groups. The Occupational Therapist IV duties include direct supervision, responsibilities and the ability to evaluate the work of other Occupational Therapist.

Duties:

Plans, conducts and evaluates occupational therapy treatment/intervention activities in the child’s natural environment.

Makes recommendations concerning standardized treatments/intervention based on developmental indications.

Completes child assessments concerning developmental, educational, and social skills/abilities. Participates in family interview.

Develops a treatment plan to address areas of need including routine based activities, neuro-motor and sensory-motor function/activities and child/family coaching and education sessions.

Participates in the development and implementation of the Individualized Family Service Plan according to state and federal guidelines.

Participates in the assessment, design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices.

Evaluates the child’s response to treatment/intervention and makes recommendations on changes in treatment as required.

Maintains records concerning treatment/intervention provided, including both subjective and objective data.

Participates in a multidisciplinary team to assist in the development of the IFSP.

Participates as a direct supervisor to other Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Interns during their fieldwork experience, with the ability to evaluate, direct and supervise the work of others.nstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior. Works effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers.

Supervisory Duties:

Approve employee time in WorkDay

Approve Travel Claims

Plan/organize/attend meetings including peer staffings, local supervisor meetings, etc.

Perform EdPlan "chart" reviews for monitoring supervisee performance

Complete performance reviews in WorkDay

Review and submit direct service data

Complete mandatory supervisor hours

Communicate regularly with other supervisors & supervisees

Participate in calibration process

Train new PT's and other new staff as necessary

Participate in Play Book webinars/activities

Attend visits with supervisees as necessary/requested

Other Duties:

Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

Works effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers.

Minimum Qualifications:

The requirements at this level consist of a current Oklahoma license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision plus four years of professional experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist; or an advanced level masters degree or doctorate in pediatric rehabilitative services, pediatric occupational therapy, special education, or a closely related field may be substituted for two years only of the required experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in a client’s natural environment (home or childcare setting) or in an office environment with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise level. Telework and provision of services remotely may also be required. While performing the duties of the job, employee is required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms and may lift up to 35 pounds. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computer and phone.

Telework: This position is not eligible for Telework and is subject to OSDH policy and supervisor’s discretion.
