Overview:
A privately owned environmental consulting firm is seeking an experienced report writing specialist. Primary responsibilities would include daily report writing, review of lab reports, electronic file management, heavy interaction with clients, project managers and outside labs. The ideal candidate would possess strong written and verbal skills with a “do what it takes attitude”. The candidate must be self-directed and comfortable working in a fast paced environment and wearing multiple hats.
Requirements:
One to two years of technical writing experience preferred
Proof reading, editing and technical formatting experience
Excellent prioritization and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written/verbal communication skills
Intermediate to advanced level PC skills required with an emphasis on Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Background:
Working knowledge of MS Word including correct formatting and spelling/grammar check.
General admin. experience involving detailed report coordination work.
Job Responsibilities:
Using pre-existing templates prepared by technical staff in Word/Excel, generate new environmental field reports and collate lab reports, drawings, and other attachments.
Organize electronic job folders and verify required documents uploaded.
Email/phone communication with Omega project management and field staff to verify details.
Retrieve incoming outside laboratory reports and do non-technical review for match to chain-of-custody and date/spelling accuracy.
Work with in-house and outside labs on lab report corrections.
Provide draft reports to Omega QC Department for mark-up and do corrections including minor formatting changes.
Forward completed reports to clients and closeout job folders.
Track progress status of reports in Big-Time management software.
