Job Description:

The Senior Mainframe Software Engineer is responsible for helping to define, drive, and deliver major components of Bank of America’s CashPro Receivables Management strategy. You will work with the Program Leader on complex, multi-million dollar projects that deliver world-class User/Data Protection controls in support of strategy. Knowledge and experience with information security controls, infrastructure and implementation techniques is a key component to this role. You will demonstrate extraordinary organizational and cross-functional communication skills to drive data loss prevention best practices across the Enterprise.

This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

Responsibilities:

Direct a major technology team within Global Technology that researches, engineers, tests, implements, communicates, monitors, and maintains solutions supporting the Bank’s information security policies and/or procedures

Utilize your in-depth knowledge and business requirements to design and engineer secure solutions to meet customer/client needs, or to address critical audit findings while protecting the Bank's data assets

Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements

Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained

Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack

Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle

Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas

Automates manual release activities

Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)

5+ years of Software Engineering experience in a complex mainframe environment

IMS DB\DC ( Mainframe )

Z/OS, COBOL, DB2, JCL, NDM, SyncSort, IBM Utilities

Minimum Education Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent work experience
