Camp Counselors are directly responsible for camper safety and learning, in a ratio of 1 counselor to 10 campers. Counselors are role models for our campers and will take this job seriously by providing positive and friendly interactions with the campers in an environment that allows the campers to feel safe, comfortable, and excited about science! Therefore, Camp Counselors (along with meeting the criteria listed above) must be HIGHLY energetic and demonstrate that they too are enjoying the camp experience!

Requirement / Responsibilities

Enthusiastically engage campers by leading them through STEM experiments and lessons, hands-on projects, games, and activities for age groups ranging from Pre-Kindergarten-Rising 8th Graders (4-13 years).

Facilitate Pre and Post camp games and activities with campers.

Document all camp issues as needed including camper behavior and incidents.

Complete assigned responsibilities including set-up, clean-up, and program maintenance. Assist with daily check-in and check-out. Supervise lunchtime activities.

Build and maintain a good working rapport with co-workers, campers, and parents.

Work in a team environment, creating a safe and fun experience for children.

Attend and actively participate in weekly staff meetings.

First Aid Certification (Preferred)

Requirements

Proven experience as Camp Counselor or similar role working with children

Familiarity with camping and various outdoor activities

Patient and reliable

Organizational and communication skills

A love for children

Energetic and positive personality

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow strenuous activities like hiking, running, crouching or carrying children)

First aid- and CPR-certified preferred

High school diploma

You may need to pass a drug or background test according to local laws
