We are currently recruiting for Cook at Central Regional Hospital.

The primary purpose of the position is to prepare and serve food from all stations throughout the Nutrition Services Department.

Job duties include, but are not limited to: * Checking patient trays and snacks for proper food items, correct portion size, consistency & preferences.

* Delivery of meals and snacks to the different units, throughout the hospital to the wards and/or dining room.

* Ensure safety of foods served * Maintain a thorough knowledge of modified diets, posted menus, diet consistencies & proper portion control.

* Interpret diet orders, translate it into modified diet menus, and portions.

This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.

The normal working hours are between 7:00am - 6:00pm, including rotating weekends and holidays; however, flexibility is required to meet training and educational requirements.

These positions are designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

This will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they clearly possess work experience that demonstrates all of the following: * Previous work experience demonstrating preparation and cooking of food in quantity lots.

* Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.

* Knowledge of acceptable food handling, food service, safety, and sanitation standards and practices.

* Ability to perform moderately heavy physical work for extended periods of time, including the ability to work in a repetitive motion.

ADA physical requirements will be discussed in detail during the interview process but, at a minimum, include the ability to perform moderate physical labor; walking long distances, occasional lifting of objects 10 to 35 pounds, standing 1 1/2 hours in the same place, bending and stooping.
