Full-time Day Floating Custodian

This position will be a floating daytime custodian, 8 hours, Mon-Fri, $16/hr.

Full-time with benefits.

Position Objective The Custodian maintains building and grounds in as optimal condition as possible for all stakeholders.

Essential Functions: * Unlocks and opens building each school day * Empties trash in all bathrooms, office and lounge * Cleans and disinfects all sinks, toilets, urinals, soap holders, paper towel holders, and toilet dividers * Cleans all mirrors * Wet mops bathrooms * Cleans water fountains * Vacuums classrooms and mats * Dust mops hallways and gym floors; use floor machine as needed * Cleans up after school activities * Locks doors and windows * Communicates with head custodian regarding repair/maintenance needs * Assists with electrical maintenance requests as needed * Assists with plumbing maintenance requests as needed * Maintains heating/cooling system as needed * Assists with freight unloading and inter-building distribution * Fields maintenance calls/requests from staff * Clears sidewalks of snow/ice during winter months * Serves as liaison with vendor who clears parking lots and driveways of snow/ice Additional Functions: * Buffs floors as needed * Dusts rooms, hallways and bathrooms as needed * Other duties as assigned Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED Competencies: * Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels Working conditions * Mental Demands: calculating, comparing, evaluation, interpreting, organizing, consulting, analyzing, planning, documenting, specifying * Physical Demands: bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting for prolonged periods of time, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity * Environmental Conditions: The work is performed primarily indoors; however, outside work is required on occasion.

Travel between buildings may be a requirement
