Licensed Veterinary Technician - ER/ICU Relief/On Call

VCA Animal Emergency Critical Care at The LifeCentre in Leesburg, VA is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician or LVT-eligible to join our team for part time Relief/On Call.

We offer 12 hour or 10 hour shifts with shift differential for overnights and weekends.

As part of a multi-specialty referral and ER hospital, we offer exposure to many aspects of advanced veterinary medicine.

Duties will include: * Patient triage and assessment * Client education and care * Venipuncture, catheter placement * Laboratory sample collection and processing * Radiology and diagnostic testing * Medication preparation and administration * IV fluids and infusion set up and maintenance * Anesthesia monitoring * Surgical preparation and assisting * Safe and effective patient handling and restraint * Compassionate care for our hospitalized patients * Medical recordkeeping Qualifications * Licensed Veterinary Technician in Virginia, license-eligible, or enrolled in an AVMA accredited program.

* Experience with the level of care and fast pace of an ER/ICU settin * Compensation is competitive with consideration taken for experience and discussed upon hiring.
