If you want to learn more about Concordia University, Nebraska, please visit Under the direction of the Associate Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer provides care for student-athletes participating in the University's athletic programs.

Responsibilities * Responsible for injury prevention, diagnosis, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of muscle and bone injuries and illnesses of student-athletes.

* Ability to recognize, evaluate and assess injuries and provide for immediate care when needed.

* Responsible for educating student-athletes in injury prevention by advising them in proper use of equipment, exercises to improve balance and strength, home exercises and therapy programs.

* Applies protective or injury-prevention devices such as tape, bandages and braces as necessary.

* Meets regularly with licensed team physician regarding specific injuries, injury evaluations and treatment options for student-athletes.

* Assists with camp coverage during the summer months.

* Assists the Head Athletic Trainer with administrative duties as needed.

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education * Bachelor's degree in related field; master's degree preferred.

Experience * Two years of experience in athletic training setting.

* Preceptorship experience preferred but not required.

Certifications * NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer * Nebraska State Licensure or eligible * CPR and AED for Professional Rescuer Certification or higher Specialized Knowledge * Knowledge of information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat injuries including symptoms, treatment alternatives, injury prevention measures and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.

* Strong interpersonal skills.

* Travel to sporting events, including nights and weekends, interior and exterior work environments.
