OVERVIEW:

As a Machinist with KSB USA, you will run various shop machines including lathes, mill machines, horizontal, milling, drilling, boring, grinding, etc. This position reports to the Site Supervisor as a part of the Machine Shop Team. To succeed in this role you will be able to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining along with calculating dimensions & tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Calculate dimensions & tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments

Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines

Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications

Detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as necessary

Maintain quality assurance by inspecting machinery for needed repairs, documenting them and be able to make minor repairs

Track log of time spent on jobs

Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work area and shop

Read and use machinist scales and indicators

Follow and adhere to all safety rules and regulations by wearing appropriate PPE

Follow and adhere to all quality protocols

Has the knowledge and ability to run multiple machines in the shop independently without any assistance or training

Ability to effectively train other Machinist Apprentice or Machinist II employees on various machines.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Willingness to work overtime as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/GED AND 8 to 10 years of Manufacturing or shop experience OR an equivalent of education and work experience

Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Read and write English; demonstrated command of basic math skills; read and interpret measuring devices, read and interpret drawings

Convert fractions to decimals, able to read machinist scales

Ability to communicate clearly and work well as a team member

Strong work ethic and initiative

Technical Skill and Competence

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Consistent standing with heavy to medium work within a Manufacturing Environment, weather can vary depending on the time of year, Hazards could be present, including noise and vibrations.

Frequent walking, lifting, carrying pushing, pulling, kneeling and communicating are required for the position.
