Job Summary

As a key member of a newly formed Credit Administration team, you will work closely with both internal partners (loan settlement, loan agency, trade management and reconciliation teams) and relevant external parties (custodians/administrators and Agency firm) to ensure that Barings’ extensive loan portfolio (both public and private) across multiple clients is accurately represented on the book of record.

You will demonstrate credibility with a proven competency and knowledge of financial services operations, as well as the ability to work independently, take ownership, and meet deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

Support timely reconciliations between third party administrators and Baring’s book of record and subsequent NAV reporting deadlines internally.

Ability to research and resolve position and cash breaks breaks across multiple parties, identify causes and liaison with loan servicer to ensure required correcting entries are posted on a timely basis.

Participation in meetings/responding to inquires with/from the business team, servicers, and other operational support teams as required.

Investigation and response to inquiries arising from the business team, the lender, the servicers, and other stakeholders.

Review deal set ups and amendments to ensure they have been correctly recorded by the loan service provider in line with the underlying loan documentation.

Identify causes of exceptions and work to enact proactive measures to reduce future breaks.

Actively ensure upward and downward communication of issues.

Assist in projects and identification of issues and areas for process improvement.

Qualifications

Very strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

Understand core loan operations concepts such as how principal, interest, fees are calculated and billed and the ability to reconcile differences.

Able to manage heavy workload, understand urgency, multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

The ability to quickly learn and use various software tools, whether they are commercially standard products or developed internally.

Attention to detail as well as an appreciation of the “big picture.”

Ability to develop strong and effective relationships with various areas of the company, as well as with third party servicers as appropriate.

3+ years’ experience in financial services

General depth of knowledge in lending and financing structures.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel, specifically) recommended.

Recent and relevant experience in financial services operations, fund administration and/or trustee services.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related fields and/or equivalent combination of education and industry experience preferred.
