As part of CDW’s Digital Velocity (DV) organization, the Senior AWS Cloud Engineers engage with clients and internal teams to provide automated, cloud native pattern solutions primarily to the public cloud service provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS). Specific duties include:

· Serve as billable consultant providing cloud native pattern engineering services to DV clients.

· Provide automated, cloud-native pattern solutions primarily to the public cloud service provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS) using deep technical knowledge in core areas pertaining to AWS, cloud-native automation, and DevOps solutions.

· Provide engineering and consulting services to customers around AWS core services, clouding networking, IAM, databases.

· Engineer best practice Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation solutions for clients leveraging technologies, including HashiCorp Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK constructs, and Ansible.

· Engineer other automation solutions including Containers, CI/CD pipelines, and CodePipeline, including orchestration with Kubernetes and Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).

· Operate as part of a team leveraging agile and scrum methodologies applying knowledge of software development lifecycle.

· Deploy and manage AWS Organizations, Accounts, Service Control Policies, and VPCs.

· Create, customize, and maintain infrastructure and application deployment pipelines.

· Develop custom code artifacts for future reuse and assist with defining code standards.

· Organize code repositories for modular use in custom customer use cases.

· Mentor and coach junior developers.

· Work with the team on specifying, architecting and designing products with excellent operational characteristics.

· Work with a variety of other tools and technologies including Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, Git, GitHub, GitLab, Linux, EC2, Lambda, S3, PC and software development life cycle (SDLC) concepts.

Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in computer science or related technology field plus 3 years DevOps experience including deploying automated cloud solutions using AWS services (CloudFormation, EC2, IAM, Lambda, S3, and VPC), and work with CI/CD techniques, GitLab, Jenkins and Python scripting. Alternatively, CDW will accept Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technology field plus 5 years progressive, post-baccalaureate DevOps experience including deploying automated cloud solutions using AWS services (CloudFormation, EC2, IAM, Lambda, S3, and VPC), and work with CI/CD techniques, GitLab, Jenkins and Python scripting. AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) certification also required.

The job is based out of CDW’s Vernon Hills, IL headquarters but the employee may work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. Salary: $150,000 to $180,000. Please apply via this website.
