Job Description
T&M is currently seeking a full-time Controls / Automation Engineer to join our Electrical & Automation team in any of our NJ offices (hybrid). This position leads the execution of controls projects, including designing controls architecture, specifying instrumentation, programming PLCs / SCADA / HMIs, and commissioning and starting up processes. Strong client interface skills are required.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Leading and supporting controls and communications designs for large municipal water and wastewater projects; industrial projects for fortune 500 companies, utility energy, and environmental, and transportation clients.
Work effort will include design and specification of control panel power distribution,, communications systems, grounding, and control architecture for PLC-base control systems
Support the proposal process in the Department by developing Bill of Materials, coordinating with subcontractors, material suppliers, and panel builders, etc.
Performing PLC, SCADA, and HMI programing and screen development – using variety of hardware / software providers. Ability to perform commissioning / startup of systems and training of operators, required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering required
Licensed as a Professional Engineer, New Jersey preferred, with the ability to be licensed in multiple states
Must have intermediate to advanced knowledge of automation / electrical engineering and design and be familiar with applicable codes, standards and acceptable industry practices
Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents.
6-15 years of related work experience in industrial design and/or water / wastewater control systems
Self-motivated, focused, and dedicated to leading a team to deliver solutions for our clients.
Candidates must be adept at working collaboratively while building strong working relationships with our clients and staff members.
