Responsibilities:

Keep tax & compliance shipshape:

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Prepare and review partnership tax returns and schedules.

Develop and implement strategic tax planning to optimize tax

Steer external tax coordination and audit support:

Serve as the primary liaison between the partnership and the third-party tax preparation firm, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.

Oversee the preparation and review of all external materials related to tax and audit processes.

Assume full responsibility for guiding and supervising third-party tax preparers to align tax strategies with the partnership’s financial goals.

Navigate the seas as partner liaison and advisory:

Become the primary tax advisor to the partnership, providing insights and recommendations on tax impacts related to partnership decisions.

Advise on the tax implications of potential new investments or business structures.

Collaborate with external and internal advisors (e.g., tax attorneys, external accountants, in house Legal, and Finance Teams) to ensure that the partnership's tax strategies are robust and legally compliant.

Train and lead internal teams on tax-related matters to ensure understanding and tax compliance across the partnership.

Plot a course in equity management and partner capital accounts:

Oversee the management of partnership equity, including monitoring and maintaining individual partner capital accounts.

Ensure accurate and transparent reporting of contributions, distributions, and adjustments to reflect each partner’s equity stake in the partnership.

Provide strategic advice on equity transactions and their tax implications to safeguard the partnership’s financial health and compliance.

Tend to the rigging in financial oversight and tax reporting:

Oversee financial reporting related to tax matters, including quarterly and annual tax requirements.

Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax documents.

Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicating the effects of these changes to management.

Codify the process in financial strategy:

Continuously seek and implement process improvements and technology solutions to streamline tax processes.

Keep abreast of technological advances or legislative changes that could impact the partnership's financial and tax positions.

Practice balanced buccaneering with ad hoc projects:

Engage in a wide range of special projects, including financial modeling and in-depth business analysis, as needed to support the dynamic demands of our business.

You’ll be working from home, but will connect with your crewmates throughout the day over chat, voice, and video through company-provided equipment.

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

CPA certification.

Advanced analytical, technical, and tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP.

Proven experience as a Tax Senior Manager within a partnership/multi member LLC.

Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for closely held partnership LLCs.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong leadership and organization skills.

Ability to distill and communicate complex information to business leaders.

Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Bonus Points For/Preferred Qualifications:

International (Germany) Tax Experience.

Experience with Xero.

Advanced degree such as Master’s in Taxation.

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation - The pay range for this role is $180,000-$200,000 yearly USD.

Vacation Time - We offer 144 hours of accrued vacation time to start to keep our pirates rested & rejuvenated!

Paid Holidays - 12 paid holidays per year.

Paid Sick Time - 80 hours annually.

Medical Insurance - 100% covered for Pirates by the company and kicks in the first of the month after enrollment. If you want to add any dependents (spouse, partner or children), they’ll be 50% covered.

Dental and Vision - 100% covered for Pirates and 50% covered for dependents.

401(K) - We offer a Traditional 401(K) and a Roth 401(K), and pirates who contribute 1-3% of their annual salary get matched 100% by the company.

Parental Leave - Full 12 weeks for parents for the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child.

Home Office Reimbursement - We provide a one-time home office reimbursement of up to $1,500 to purchase an ergonomic desk and chair.
