Job Description
Our client in Stamford, CT has an immediate opening for a Certified Medical Assistant. Our client is open to candidates available on a temporary to permanent basis. Seeking someone with clinical experience and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist physician with all medical procedures with courteous and knowledgeable medical decision-making; follow through on patient requests for information
Prepare exam rooms between each patient and prepare injections daily
Escort patients to exam rooms, take vitals as needed
Review all charts prior to patients appointments to assure all paperwork is complete and attached
Stock exam rooms with supplies
Know legalities regarding confidentiality of patient records
Knowledge of EMR systems
Know OSHA regulations and follow the correct procedures for handling, maintaining and disposing bio hazard materials
Other miscellaneous duties as directed by physician or supervisor
Qualifications:
Must have at least 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school preferred
Medical Assistant board certification/diploma required
High school graduate or GED
Knowledge of medical office procedures and insurance verification
Ability to demonstrate a mature, dependable, and responsible approach when interacting with patients, physicians, co-workers, and additional outside sources
Phlebotomy exp a plus
Gastroenterology exp a plus as well
