Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking to hire one, or more Technical Project Managers to manage and maintain relationships with our customers and counterparts at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). This position will support the Program Office for the Research, Science and Engineering Services (RSES) contract.

As the prime contractor for the RSES contract, AMA supports the full range of technology readiness levels from fundamental research through flight rated hardware design and development for customers at NASA LaRC. Our team supports leading-edge research and programs supporting NASA’s missions including the infusion of novel, fundamental methods, and concepts in research. This role requires a high level of business acumen, emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and organization to develop and maintain successful relationships with a high number of diverse customers with unique needs.

Responsibilities:

Understand the vision of short-term and long-term needs of AMA and our customer by managing matrixed teams of managers and technical personnel to ensure delivery of products and services.

Interface, coordinate and interact with stakeholders via face-to-face meetings, virtual meetings, phone calls, instant message (Teams) and email.

Prepare technical, financial and workforce plans based on customer driven requirements.

Monitor performance and variances of NASA TDN/tasks, providing solutions through close customer collaboration.

Manage customer input and feedback for all projects and interface with customer points of contact including Technical Points of Contact, Technical Monitors, Branch Heads, and Contraction Officer’s Representatives

Establish and build strong working relationships with business leaders at all levels to include AMA, NASA and our subcontractors.

Strive to maximize the award fee objective and performance across assigned task requirements by participating in internal management reviews and managing monthly financial variance reporting.

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s (or equivalent) with minimum 6 years’ relevant experience or Master’s degree with minimum 4 years’ relevant experience.

Leadership and management experience working with technical and non-technical counterparts.

Proficient using Microsoft Office 365 tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams.

Demonstrated experience creating plans, managing budgets, and monitoring financial performance.

Self-organized and high emotional intelligence.

Demonstrated leadership, management and decision-making experience in a fast-paced environment.

Motivation to identify risks and to identify multiple solutions to unique customer needs where requirements may be ambiguous.

Strong communication skills both written and oral.

U.S. Citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Skills or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 6 years’ relevant experience.

Advanced education or training in project management, business, contract management, leadership, or general management, such as CAPM, PMP, MBA, or Engineering Management.

Experience managing in a government contracting environment.

Established relationships with NASA customers across LaRC or exposure/experience to NASA contracts.

Experience leading teams within a service contracting environment.

Knowledge and experience using a task management system.
