The Crown Is Yours

The Senior Manager of SEC Financial Reporting will report directly to the Sr Director of Financial Reporting & Acquisitions. Partnering across the organization, this individual will be responsible for overseeing the accounting activities directly related to SEC Financial Reporting, inclusive of Technical Accounting and Stock Plan Administration, and Business Combination activities.

What you’ll do as a Sr Manager of SEC Reporting

Financial/SEC Reporting (40%)

Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and Management Discussion and Analysis for inclusion in 10-K and 10-Qs, including:

Reviewing consolidation and results by entity/product line

Working with other business lines to obtain the latest relevant information for appropriate disclosure under GAAP

Working with investor relations and FP&A to prepare analytics over key financial information

Defining and quantifying Adjusted EBITDA for financial reporting purposes

Work cross-functionally and be primary finance contact for legal, HR and Investor Relations teams for SEC and Investor disclosures such as 8-Ks, investor presentations, Annual Meeting, and Proxy disclosures

Review monthly / quarterly reconciliations and journal entries as required with focus on investments, valuation of warrants, revenue recognition, leases, and stock compensation

Develop financial reporting processes with focus on implementing tools to make processes more efficient

Execute accounting policies and procedures to maintain appropriate internal controls and compliance.

Technical Accounting (25%)

Work closely and be primary finance contact for Business and Corporate Development teams to analyze new agreements and partnerships to identify and summarize key accounting issues and impact for the CAO and CFO.

Lead preparation of accounting memos and technical analyses, for example:

Assessing revenue recognition accounting for new products and verticals under ASC 606

Overseeing performance derivatives and investments and working with external advisors, where applicable, to calculate fair value of such instruments and investments.

Review of annual and quarterly intangible and goodwill impairment memos, including developing forecasts and working with FP&A and valuation experts to determine enterprise value for each reporting unit.

Oversee lease accounting administration including transition to a new lease accounting software

Internal Controls (25%)

Work as primary liaison between the Accounting team and Internal Audit / External Audit on all SOX related matters

Work with Internal Audit function on risk assessment and control design to ensure that all risks of material misstatement are covered

Quarterback the resolving of SOX issues as they arise with the respective control owners to ensure all deficiencies are remediated by year-end, including working with internal audit to quantify potential misstatements and determine level of control deficiency

Acquisitions and Integrations (10%)

Support the coordination and execution of all accounting-related acquisition and integration activities

Support various Day 1 and Day 2 activities in support of Accounting Acquisition and Integration “Playbook”

Own SOX documentation of internal controls over financial reporting for all accounting-related Business Combination activities

Work with auditors to provide supporting audit documentation and coordinate their review and sign off as part of the financial statement audit

What you’ll Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and CPA certification is required.

Approximately 7-10 years of experience including at least 5 years at a public accounting firm

Significant experience with implementation and testing of SOX controls as an auditor or as a control owner

Expert level understanding of SEC Reporting and US GAAP including ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and ASC 805 business combination accounting is required

Experience working with high growth, technology industry

Gaming experience a plus

Strong management and leadership skills is required

Ability to drive projects to completion, manage competing priorities and provide guidance to the team and business on prioritization is required

Proven track record of cross functional relationships across the organization is required

Proven success in a fast-paced, startup environment is preferred

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,180.00 - $195,270.00, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
