We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Senior Manager of Network and Server Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure and server environment. You will lead a team of skilled professionals in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our IT systems, supporting our business operations and driving innovation.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Network Infrastructure Management:

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.

Ensure network security measures are in place, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, collaborating with network engineers and technicians as needed.

Server Infrastructure Management:

Manage the organization's server environment, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS) offerings.

Evaluate service providers and make recommendations for optimal solutions based on business needs and budgetary considerations.

Implement server security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Systems Administration:

Oversee the administration and maintenance of servers, virtual machines, and other IT systems hosted on-premises and in the cloud.

Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and migrations to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.

Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard critical systems and data.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead a team of network engineers, system administrators, and cloud specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.

Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide professional development opportunities to enhance team effectiveness.

Vendor Management:

Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and contracts are negotiated effectively.

Evaluate vendor proposals and make recommendations for technology acquisitions and partnerships.

Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

Budget and Resource Management:

Develop and manage the departmental budget, including capital and operational expenditures, to ensure cost-effective use of resources.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements while maintaining service quality and reliability.

Allocate resources effectively to support project initiatives and operational needs.

Incident and Change Management:

Develop and maintain incident response and change management processes to minimize service disruptions and ensure timely resolution of issues.

Lead the investigation and resolution of network and system outages, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.

Implement and support local and wide area networks as well as Cloud Networks.

Work on complex problems where analysis of situation requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.

Coordinate all aspects of Windows, Linux and AIX operating system applications and hardware support services, including operating system and hardware installation, security, tuning, and maintenance activities.

Monitor daily and weekly statistics reporting trends, variances, and report problems to management.

Manage the planning, design, coordination, and implementation of major network and projects and systems.

Establish and sets standards to identify personal computer/technology requirements based on business needs.

Manage the data network and services while implementing change control and documentation processes.

Develop and execute disaster plans for network and systems.

Ensure equipment and operating systems are maintained at current supported levels.

Evaluate vendor products for hardware and software and recommend purchases consistent with objectives and strategies. Make recommendations and develop strategies for effective use of information technology.

Conduct research on information technology products, trends, and directions and recommend changes in support of our company strategy.

Participate in off hour on call problem resolution process.

Lead and manage the team, including;

Coaching and mentoring team members

Provide training and development opportunities

Conduct performance appraisals.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Bachelor degree in computer science/engineering discipline or business discipline with applied information technology training or associate degree with 4 years of business experience; and

15+ years of information technology experience.

3+ years of supervising a team experience.

Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

Proficient computer skills including Windows, Linux, Microsoft Office, Internet, printing, operating systems, network operating systems, importing and exporting of data, and communications.

Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with external customers.

Ability to prioritize and multi-task various and conflicting responsibilities.

Demonstrated successful capability to resolve conflict over sensitive or complex issues.

Strong organizational skills.

Ability to travel 25% of the time.

Able to lift 50 lbs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Cisco certifications in CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCVP, CCSP.

Telecom certifications.

Oracle experience.

MCTS - Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist

MCITP - Microsoft Certified IT Professional

Citrix and Terminal Server experience
