The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and preventative productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Key duties include but not limited to the following:

Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.

Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.

Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.

Perform a variety of pipefitting and welding throughout the facility as required for repairs and piping upgrades.

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

The maintenance technician may also be assigned to other duties as deemed appropriate and necessary by plant management.

General Requirements:

High school diploma/GED, completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.

An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance, preferred.

Requirements: Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.

4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.

6+ years Electrical, Welding, Piping Fitting, Boiler Maintenance & Operation experience in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to read blueprints and schematics, preferred.

Must pass Department of Homeland Security background check and pre-placement physical (including respirator) and pre-employment drug-screen.

Working Conditions:

Requires climbing, standing, bending and lifting heavy objects in confined spaces using proper lifting and rigging techniques.

Speaking & Hearing: Interact with all plant groups as well as the plants environmental consultants.

Seeing: Must be able to read and follow written instructions.

Subject to working near moving parts of heavy machinery and high voltage equipment where the use of appropriate protective/safety equipment is required.

Subject to working at heights and in adverse weather conditions.

Work includes indoor and outdoor environment.

May be subject to after hour call-ins.
