As an Imaging Physics Resident, you will be training in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging Medical Physics..

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of certified Medical Physicists, studies and trains in all aspects of diagnostic imaging medical physics including radiography, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology, mammography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, ultrasound and imaging informatics. Provides physics support, interacts with radiologists in optimizing imaging protocols and patient radiation dose, and is involved in routine quality assurance of equipment. We seek candidates with an excellent foundation in medical physics and a strong desire to thrive in a clinical environment. Preferred candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in medical physics from a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program or have completed a CAMPEP-accredited Certificate Program in Medical Physics.

Essential Job Functions:

Under supervision of a certified medical physicist, provides provide physics support in optimizing imaging protocols and patient radiation dose.

Assist medical physicist with routine quality assurance on equipment

Fulfill duties as assigned, including proper and complete documentation of clinical projects and clinical rotations.

Complete rotations with satisfactory evaluation.

Required Qualifications:

We seek candidates with an excellent foundation in medical physics and a strong desire to thrive in a clinical environment. Preferred candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in medical physics from a CAMPEP-accredited graduate program or have completed a CAMPEP-accredited Certificate Program in Medical Physics.

Must comply with UCMC’s COVID-19 Vaccination requirement as a condition of employment. If you have already received the vaccination, you must provide proof as part of the pre-employment process. This is in addition to your compliance with the Flu Vaccination requirement as well. Medical and religious exemptions will be considered consistent with applicable law. Lastly, a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check are also required for all employees prior to hire.
