Extrusion Blow Molding Technician

THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED THE AD IS OPEN TO PROCESS A NEW HIRE IN OUR INTERNAL SYSTEM

Berry Global in Winchester, Va is seeking dependable, eager-to-learn, plastics-experienced individuals to join our Extrusion Blow Mold (EBM) department as Process Technicians. In this role, you will operate EBM machines, perform scheduled charting and inspections on machines and associated equipment, inspect and sometimes pack product as needed.

Responsibilities:

In this job, you will:

Perform the job prioritizing Safety above all.

Adhere to all Quality standards and practices.

Start and stop machines to produce quality, rigid-plastic containers.

Be responsible for working with a variety of Magic machines (Liter, Half-Liter, Dual Head)

Perform routine inspections, cleaning & lubricating and/or tightening of machine assembles.

Perform product inspections using test equipment, statistical quality methods & visual inspection techniques.

Pack product into boxes/cartons at designated production-line speeds according to specifications & stack packed cartons to build 4 ft. high units.

Perform as a responsible team member to maintain a clean, safe, and effective work environment.

Operate machines, pull seepage, change materials, assist in changeovers and identify start and stop of out-of-spec production (heldware)

Assist in the prevention of nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.

Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality systems.

Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.

Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes or systems and very the implementation of solutions.

Other duties as needed.

We are a food-safe facility and our PPE includes: Safety Toe Shoes, Eye Protection, Hearing Protection, Hair Nets, Bump Caps, Beard Nets, and other Personal Protective Items as needed.

As a food-safe facility, we do not allow jewelry or piercings in our production areas.

Qualifications:

The perfect candidate for this position will:

Possess at least two years of experience as a plastics industry production technician (changeover technician, process technician, etc.)Extrusion Blow Molding preferred

Be comfortable with and have working knowledge using hand-tools

Have exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills

Be able to measure and document product specifications using gauges, calipers, and scales

Possess an enthusiastic attitude and eagerness to learn

Maintain positive attendance and be dependable

Be willing to accept 2nd Shift once released from training
