Overview:

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is looking for a qualified summer intern to join our Instructional Technology and Media Center (ITMC) team. This is an unpaid position. Our ITMC department produces quality instructional and promotional digital media for the IMSA community and our constituents, and seeks a summer intern who can participate in the various stages of digital media production. This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of digital media production.

As a teaching and learning laboratory created by the State of Illinois, IMSA enrolls academically talented Illinois students (grades 10–12) in its advanced, residential college preparatory program. Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the process of digital media production – pre-production, production & post productions.

Assist in the script writing, storyboarding and creative planning of digital media projects.

Assist in the distribution and/or delivery of digital media

Assist with live event Audio Visual set up and support

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Requirements

IMSA is looking for an intern candidate who is either majoring in Digital Media/Cinematography, Mass Communications, Marketing, or a recent graduate who has experience in media production, or an otherwise related field. This candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with basic knowledge of digital media production, Adobe Creative Cloud (or equivalent) software, DSLR photography experience is a plus, and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this unpaid internship position.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Work is performed in an office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Substantial time is spent working on a computer. This role generally requires mobility, written and verbal communication, hearing and visual capabilities, bending, kneeling, and moving audio visual equipment up to 50 pounds. However, reasonable accommodations, including assertive technology, may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform such requirements.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is an unpaid internship. No compensation or benefits are offered for this role.
