Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Design develop and maintain scalable high-performance software applications using Python and PySpark.

Implement robust data processing and analytics solutions to handle large volumes of data efficiently.

Ensure code quality reliability and reusability by adhering to best practices in software development.

Participate in code reviews to maintain high development standards.

Troubleshoot debug and upgrade existing systems to improve performance and scalability.

Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development and data processing.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and methodologies.

Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.

Work closely with the DevOps team to ensure seamless deployment and operation of applications.

Monitor application performance and implement optimizations as necessary.

Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Position Qualifications:

Required skills:

Proven experience in Python and PySpark is mandatory.

Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns.

Experience with Azure cloud services especially Azure Event Hub Azure DevOps and Azure Key Vault is highly desirable.

Familiarity with SQL Kafka and structured streaming technologies is advantageous.

Knowledge of Azure Data Lake Store Azure Monitor and Azure Synapse services will be a plus.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $66,500- $90,000 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
