Transportation Engineer

Review assigned areas of engineering plans to ensure compliance with contracts, regulations and engineering standards under guidance.

Assist PE with design of roadways, intersections, sidewalk ramps, guardrails pavements, measuring and calculating grade area/volumes, pavement rehabilitation, street widening, specifications, analysis of pavement failures, estimates and other related projects using civil engineering and transportation engineering methodologies.

Assist PE with field inspections of civil, construction and/or system engineering preservation project, inspect soil grading, surfacing and drainage structures for engineering compliance and adherence to plans and specifications.

Assist in establishing line and grade for projects, operate engineering instruments with technical calculations and engineering documentation.

Assist PE in performing environmental inspection of construction sites using Primavera P6 and BIM 3D Software.

Survey to certify storm-water management facilities, as needed, for engineering compliance and furtherance of project work under guidance of PE.

Assist with various design build related project delivery methods, technical writing and project modifications under guidance and direction of PE.

Review CPM schedules and verify durations and productions rates for CPM schedules to ensure correct methodologies and procedures were used, as directed.

Check resources to be utilized during construction to they are sufficient.

Review the logic used in the schedule to ensure it meets the engineering requirements and sequence for the project under guidance of PE.

Develop detailed engineering reports utilizing transportation and civil engineering methodologies under guidance of PE.

Assist in conducting basic test on soil, asphalt, cement/concrete, aggregates, bituminous products, metal products and industrial coatings for sustainability on engineering projects using methodologies in building materials, under guidance of PE.
