Manages the strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and supply chain modeling related to the inbound and outbound freight movement to the Regional Distribution Centers network. Develops comprehensive data sets and scorecards to collaborate with Merchant teams on inbound optimization and freight savings opportunities. Manage carrier relationships including intermodal, LTL/crossdock and truckload modes conducting annual bids, quarterly review meetings and bi-weekly calls where necessary. Works with inbound and outbound transportation teams to identify and qualify new carriers to support the business. Manages and leads freight audit, payment and claims processing across inbound, outbound and Omnichannel transportation services. Develops, coaches and manages team members to achieve department and corporate objectives.

1. Manages the strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting of inbound and outbound freight in conjunction with corporate strategic planning and merchandising.

2. Tracks and manages transportation department operational and financial metrics and works across department to enhance reporting and analysis.

3. Develops analysis and scorecards and collaborates with Merchant teams to identify and implement supply chain solutions to reduce inbound transportation spend and support Merchant evaluation of new vendors and/or sourcing locations.

4. Develops and maintains network data and modeling systems, including transportation rate benchmarking and internal operational data. Builds team of data analysts proficient in Alteryx and MicroStrategy.

5. Performs or oversees a variety of ad hoc transportation systems analysis as needed.

6. Leads the data preparation, analysis and negotiations with carriers to maintain cost effective logistics rates and is responsible for submission and analysis of data which drives all carrier rate negotiations.

7. Manages on-going carrier relationships across all transportation modes and conducts periodic reviews with carriers as necessary to maintain service levels and address issues.

8. Oversees all financial reporting for Transportation Services to include communications between Vendors, Carriers, Executive Management, Distribution Centers, Accounting, Finance, Planning, D&TS support groups and various other corporate departments.

9. Develops and maintains Sarbanes-Oxley compliance for Transportation Services.

10. Develops, implements and ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures that must be followed on all inbound and outbound financial transactions.

11. Oversees processing of all freight audits and claims for Transportation Services, including inbound, outbound and Omnichannel services.

12. Ensures Transportation Services complies with corporate document retention guidelines.

1. Five to seven years supervisory experience within a transportation environment or financial environment required.

2. Associates Degree in supply chain management required; Bachelor’s degree in transportation and logistics strongly preferred.

3. Strong Accounting, Financial and Sarbanes-Oxley regulatory knowledge and experience required.

4. Strong oral and written communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills required.

5. Experience working within an integrated systems environment required. Understanding of advanced transportation planning and management systems preferred.
