POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing and repair work through the creation and maintenance of engineering documents and communication of essential information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Apply engineering principles & established drafting practices to create products that meet customer specifications and expectations
Create prints using Autodesk Inventor
Create bills of material and work instructions
Coordinate machining, outside processes, and address any manufacturing issues that arise
Estimate cost of potential jobs for quoting purposes
Reverse engineer from damaged parts
Meet internal and external deadlines
Occasional travel to customer or vendor locations
Perform other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not require supervisory responsibilities
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred
Experience with hydraulics
Knowledge of common carbon, alloy, and stainless steels
Knowledge of industrial heat treatment and plating processes
Excellent mechanical and technical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Work closely with machinists, welders, mechanics, and sales
Basic knowledge of safe driving and movement of bulk materials using a forklift is a plus
